Hungary
Today’s Hungary may only be a modest nation on the global stage. However, Hungarians retain a distinct heritage as descendants of the nomadic Magyar tribe from Central Asia. Centuries of Habsburg rule ingrained the pursuit of refinement of European high culture. Indeed, we enjoyed Hungary’s embrace of the good life, from fine wine to grand opera. While Prague may be the most visited, the Hungarian capital gets my vote as the most charming city in Central Europe. From rowdy stag parties to wine-obsessed retirees, Hungary is multi-faceted in what she offers. We are certainly itching for our return and exploring the Hungarian countryside.
