Iceland

Since the 2008 financial crisis, Iceland has experienced exponential growth in its tourism sector and has become a popular bucket list destination. Given its popularity, you almost expect to be disappointed. But honestly, I don’t think that is ever possible. With a population of just 350,000, Iceland is among the most sparsely populated countries in the world and a perfect destination for solitude. While we were thoroughly in awe of the beautiful natural scenery, an absolute highlight of our trip was the chance to spend quality time with Islanders. Despite the influx of foreign tourists, locals are genuinely welcoming and eager to share their passion for this amazing country!
