Georgia

For Americans, telling friends and families that you would be visiting Georgia would inevitably follow up with a clarification: it is Georgia, the country, and not the American state of Georgia. Over the past ten years, Georgia has emerged as a trendy destination for foreign tourists and digital nomads. From ancient orthodox churches to crumbling Soviet-era monuments, Georgia is a dream for any history buff like myself. Coupled with scrumptious national cuisine and the pristine landscape of the Caucasus Mountains, Georgia may be the most worthwhile travel destination among all the former Soviet republics.
