Czech Republic

Situated at the geographic center of Europe, the Czech Republic is a crossroad of ethnic culture and religion. By all accounts, this is very often the first former Eastern Bloc nation Americans would visit, and I suspect that nearly all visitors make a beeline straight to the capital, Prague, the “city of a hundred spires.” As beautiful and magnificent as Prague, the Czech countryside was the highlight of our two-week trip to Central Europe. From Brno’s Villa Tugendhat to the grand renaissance square of Telč, the cultural heritage of Moravia and Bohemia is some of the best on the continent. Is it unusual that I enjoyed Olomouc more than Prague?
