Sri Lanka

Due to geographic proximity to the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka is sometimes mistakenly labeled as just a “milder” version of India. Roughly the size of Ireland, Sri Lanka could be deceiving at first. Each country region has its unique climate and monsoon season, making Sri Lanka a year-round destination. From visiting the sacred Buddha’s relic in the holy city of Kandy to ascending Adam’s Peak in the central highland, Sri Lanka is far from just another beach destination for the backpacking crowd. Without any question, the country has come a long way from the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and the twenty-five-year civil war.
